Direct electric or gas heating period explorer

Note: Building model is based on a small single space building, floor area is 21m2, walls are 600mm thick stone with plaster on hard, 100mm insulation in roof, roof lights, solid floor. See details and picture here

The saving vs continuous heating will be higher the less thermal mass is in the building construction and the higher the heat loss rate through the building fabric.

If the building is super insulated the difference between continuous and dynamic heating becomes neglible.

This could be explorer further in future versions of this simulator.
